Formula

Grade (%) = (points earned ÷ points possible) × 100

Example

If you receive 43 points out of 50, the calculated percentage is 86%. The letter-grade label shown by this tool is only a common reference scale; your institution may use different boundaries.

Why institutional rules matter

Some courses apply weighting, curves, pass/fail thresholds or special rounding. For a weighted course total, use the final-grade calculator rather than treating every assessment as equally important.
