Weighted average
A weighted average gives different observations different influence on the final mean. It is frequently used for course grades, composite scores and combined measurements.
Formula
Weighted mean = Σ(value × weight) ÷ Σ(weight).
Weights may be percentages or any consistent positive scale. They do not need to sum to 100 because the formula divides by the total weight.
